I’m excited to share a special update on a story that is very close to my heart—the prequel to Five Friends One Dream, titled Before the Music.
This prequel takes us back to where it all truly begins—with Jammie.
Before the friendships, before the performances, before the dream takes shape, there is a young girl facing extraordinary challenges. Born with cerebral palsy, Jammie’s early life is marked by obstacles that make even the simplest milestones feel monumental. Crawling, walking, speaking—each step forward is hard-earned. But perhaps her greatest challenge is her deepest passion: music.
Inside her mind, Jammie hears something beautiful—a clear, perfect melody. Yet bringing that melody into the world is anything but easy. Her voice falters, her control slips, and frustration often threatens to silence her. Still, she refuses to give up.
Before the Music is a story of perseverance in its purest form. It follows Jammie’s journey through years of determination, small victories, and difficult setbacks as she slowly discovers strength in both her body and her voice. Each moment of progress—steadier steps, clearer words, longer notes—becomes a triumph worth celebrating.
But this is only the beginning.
This prequel also sets the stage for what’s to come. In the years ahead, Jammie will meet John, Lilly, Michael, April, and Mark—five individuals with their own stories, struggles, and talents. Together, they will form something greater than themselves: a shared dream that transforms their lives through creativity, friendship, and music.
Before the Music is about the quiet courage that exists before the spotlight. It’s about the unseen battles, the early hope, and the first notes of a much bigger song.
Thank you for being part of this journey. More updates—and more of Jammie’s story—are coming soon.
